Marguerite Patton RNBC, BSN, CRNI
Marguerite is the Director of MediLink Educare, a division of Medilink Homecare in Hammonton, NJ. She has been in the nursing field for over 30 years, with clinical experience in both acute care and home care. Marguerite gained much of her experience while working 24years at an acute care hospital. She has experience managing Vascular Access/PICC teams at several large hospitals as well as many long term care facilities. Her responsibilities include PICC/Midline insertions, peripheral intravenous access, care and maintenance for all access devices, policy and procedure oversight, competencies and education. She has been instrumental in developing PICC teams, including orientation of new PICC inserters. Her accomplishments include team awards and nurse of the year. She developed a program in conjunction with radiology so that qualified PICC nurses could view the x-ray result and verify correct PICC tip placement. The PICC nurses are reading with a 99% accuracy rate when compared to the radiologist.
Marguerite is a passionate teacher and her classes receive rave reviews from those in attendance. Her hands on, real-world approach to vascular access training provides the student with confidence. She is trusted to provide IV competency and recertification classes to the nursing staff of hospitals and long-term care facilities across the country. She also teaches on such topics as TPN therapy, Inotropic Therapy, Chrohn’s Disease and many other disease states and diagnoses and the nurses approach to caring for these patients.
Marguerite graduated from Helene Fuld School of Nursing and Richard Stockton College of NJ. She went on to obtain a certificate in child care/child development. She also became Board certified in Medical Surgical Nursing in 2003. Her interests in vascular access lead her to achieve the CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) credential. As a nurse with interests in vascular access, she has joined the Infusion Nurses Society (INS), Association for Vascular Access (AVA) and a local chapter of AVA titled SoJan. She participates in annual conferences and local chapter meetings.
Marguerite lives in Hammonton, NJ, a small farming town known as the blueberry capital of the world. Many Italian immigrants founded the town and traditions carry on today. Her daily interests revolve around the love of family and food! She attends many sporting events, following her children, and family members. Marguerite is also involved in her community, offering volunteer help when needed at various events.
